Because people are idiots who surrender the right of personal privacy under the guise of ‘social networking.’
But even if you block your friends from checking you in somewhere via Places, there’s nothing stopping them from blurting out, “Hey, guess who’s here at the movies with me!” in a regular status update, along with a (tagged) picture of you wearing 3-D glasses — and of course, they could do so whether you’re a Facebook user or not. So it goes in the age of Facebook.Yes, this shows what complete idiots people are.
People who today are in such desperate need for attention, so preoccupied with building up their own personal cult of celebrity that they feel their every brainfart needs to be broadcast to the world now would enable the tracking of their movements and readily surrender the locations of people who might not share their stupidity and actually value their privacy.
Do you morons even begin to realize how Orwellian in scope this all is and the implications there are for tracking your movements?
